Research project

Sectoral administrative law

Period: 2013

Project leader: Dr. András Lapsánszky PhD, associate professor, lapsanszky##kukac##nmhh.hu

The most important research area of the Department of Administrative and Financial Law in 2013 was the systematic analysis of the sectoral administrative law. In addition to the research staff of the department, the project was attended by - except for the Faculty of Law of Szeged - all the legal departments of administrative law from Hungary and the National University of Public Service as well.

Sectoral administrative law is a very important part of the administrative law, which regulates the sectors of the economy and society and which changes very quickly. Therefore, the research was not a guide to the legal regulations, which are in force - unlike the domestic handbooks - but it set a target to sum up the theory of the sectors of administrative regulations, with special attention to analyze the causes of state intervention and European models.

The result of project was a three-volume textbook and handbook, which was published by the Complex Publisher in 2013. The title of these handbooks are Administrative law – Chapters of sectoral administrative law I-III. These volumes can be useful for practitioners and could offer a great help to make the teaching of sectoral administrative law more uniform nationally. Many law faculties and the National University of Public Service has made them their textbook.
